  1. I have been trying to make a route deletion permanent without success on this one server.
    eth0 is my default gateway.
    eth1 is the second interface.
I added eth1:1 as the VIP.
    eth0 and eth1 are in 10.x.y.0 and 10.a.b.0 subnets.
By adding eth1:1 a route gets added for 10.0.0.0/8
This interferes with the routing for 10.x.y.0 network.
I was able to persistently delete the route on one server.
But on the secodn server I am unable to do so.
    Any ideas?

    1. I checked again. Both the servers havr the same issue.

      under /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts

IPV6INIT is in any of the ifcfg-eth* files

      [root@udblab1 network-scripts]# grep “10.0.0.0” *
      network-functions-ipv6: # test 10.0.0.0/8 (RFC 1918 / private)

I am trying to figure out why is the system adding a route for 10.0.0.0/8?

      1. Figured out the issue. I had not set the broadcast and netmask for the virtaul interface in the ifcfg file. Therfore the network service was adding the route to 10.0.0.0/8.
